Un des deux morceaux bonus de Mudvayne, dispos sur aucun album. Aime particulièrement l'esprit de la chanson, même si ça ressemble pas trop à du Mudvayne normal tout ça (sauf à la basse)

L'Altra est un groupe de pop, né à Chicago en 1997. Qui dit Chicago dit un des berceaux du Post Rock. Et qui dit Post Rock dit pour moi interessant.

On n'a pas affaire à un pur groupe de Post Rock ici : c'est en effet un savant mélange popeux qui se ressent plus ou moins tout le long de l'album. Les compositions et le son sont parfaits, une batterie discrète mais essentielle guide, sur des morceaux de 3 à 6 minutes, guitares mélancoliques mais subtiles, cuivres pleins de chaleur, piano nostalgique, violons furtifs. Sur le long, on observe des échanges de voix féminines comme masculines, achevant d'imposer en quelques secondes d'écoute une rafraichissante sensation d'harmonie.

On a donc le droit à des morceaux essentiellement pop (la merveilleuse Soft Connection par exemple), mais un peu tripatouillés par l'influence Post Rock essentiellement jazzie, à la sauce Tortoise (Certainty). Le tout forme un ensemble doux comme un soleil d'après-midi... On est bercés par père et mère, aussi rassurants que desespérés, qu'on imagine souvent souriant avec une larme au coin de l'oeil (Ways out).

Cet Album de l'Altra, mon préféré, est extrêmement homogène et bourré d'émotions sobres et naturelles. Un accompagnement parfait pour des moments de solitude...

Ah, un peu de Poison the well tiens. Et pis tant qu'à faire, extrait du très bon album The opposite of december. Un live dans une petite salle de Slice paper wrists traîne sur le P2P et il est très beau, jvous le conseille si vous aimez la chanson.
